John Ramsay has made a life-long study of Darwin, and has recently turned to composition to reflect his enthusiasms for geology and evolution. Professor Ramsay will be talking about his work before the concert.
The Fitzwilliam Quartet has a long association with Cambridge, and with Fitzwilliam College in particular. They gave the first performance of the Ramsay Quartet as part of the Darwin Festival in July 2009.
