The University Festival Chorus is always a highlight of the Festival; for 2009 its members will be taken from the choirs of Girton, Jesus and Selwyn Colleges and will be joined by eight members of Onyx Brass. Under the directorship of Christopher Robinson they will perform four wonderful choral works of the past 100 years, revelling in the acoustic and ambience of King's College.

Jonathan Dove's work is a theatrical setting of poetry by Emily Dickinson, describing the wonder of each and every twenty four hours of the world. Its performance demands the use of the full chapel, with the brass instruments moving around the singers.

Gabriel Jackson settting of Joseph Addison's famous poetry The Spacious Firmament on high describes the wonder of the space, the starts and planets.

The works by John Rutter and Benjamin Britten are celebrated works of the 20th century, loved by choir singers the world over.
